Volcanoes of the Intrasalar Range
The Intersalar volcanoes form an east/west oriented range located between the Salar de Uyuni and the Salar de Coipasa, the two largest salt flats in the world. These volcanoes provide a rare opportunity to study the east/west variations in the compositions of magmas across the Altiplano and to investigate the relationships between volcanism and construction of the Central Andean Plateau.
